On the day that Russia passed a new law against deliberate (!) media lies, numerous Western broadcasters shut down their work in Russia. The subsequent statements by the media houses consisted of – who would have thought it – lies and misrepresentations. We contrast the new Russian law with German reporting.
On March 2, the chairman of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev presented an amendment to the law. After amending an existing law, it is possible to pass it much more quickly than an entirely new law.
Penalty for INTENTIONAL misreporting
It was proposed to add a new article to the relevant paragraph in the Criminal Code, providing for a punishment “for INTENTIONALLY misrepresenting information about the activities of our Armed Forces in the performance of duties to protect citizens and the state” provides. The maximum penalty under the first part of this article can be up to 3 years in prison. If the internet has been used to spread misrepresentations, the prison sentence can range from 5 to 10 years.
“If misrepresentation has led to socially dangerous consequences, then it is proposed that a prison sentence of up to 15 years be imposed. The need for the article is given by a large number of fake news discrediting the Russian army and the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine,” the MP explained.
As a result, most Western news channels and agencies ceased operations in Russia. On March 7, they reported the following false claim in identical wording:
The dissemination of ALLEGED false information about the Russian military now entails drastic penalties in Russia. The Duma passed a corresponding law on Friday, which provides for up to 15 years in prison.
In both texts we have highlighted the word that matters. Even non-lawyers know that there is a huge difference between acting in good faith and making a mistake – and acting intentionally.
The behavior of the Western media is somewhat interesting, because who should fear being jailed for deliberately falsifying? We have been collecting examples of such deliberate forgeries over the past few days, which cannot possibly have happened by accident.
The bombing of Ukraine – or at least China 2015
The fake gained great fame through BILD, which sold an explosion in China as current events in the Ukraine. Even the George Soros-co-funded censorship platform Correctiv had to admit the cheatingbut was very happy that the picture later confessed.

The photo montages of the bleeding woman in front of a residential building became very well known. Both the woman and the apartment building were fakes or taken out of context. The woman is a crisis performer from the Ukrainian CIPSO (Pysops & Cyber Warfare).

The gifted Pimmel pianist (Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyj: The Legend of the Pimmel Pianist) was celebrated by numerous media as a war hero on the front line. In fact, old pictures were shown – and thus lied twice. Because since the beginning of the war, the Western media have stopped wanting to know about the fratricidal war that is being waged in the name of Zelensky in eastern Ukraine against the people of Donbass. In 2021 he visited the combat zone there, and in 2022 it is said that the pictures were from the defense of Kiev.

It cannot be ruled out whether these “touching scenes” that spread on social media also found their way into print media. The fact is that many such recordings that are circulating come from old films.

Social media is also a constant source of misinformation, whether the postings come from official news sites or from private individuals. Here’s an example where the same scene was used for propaganda on both sides. It cannot be ruled out that this picture was also taken years earlier and may have come from a film.

The self-image: Only the others do propaganda
For example, this headline on NTV is really funny. “Many Russians believe state media propaganda”. That’s why system media in the West want nothing more than the sole sovereignty of opinion and interpretation with a simultaneous ban on all alternative media. With regard to “propaganda by the state media” we have been able to learn a lot since the beginning of the Corona crisis. And yes, the majority of the population believes this propaganda – in the East as well as in the West.

Whether photomontages of this kind justify putting people in labor camps for up to 15 years remains to be seen. But all the media that DELIBERATELY rely on fakes in their work or create them themselves to advance the agenda of their masters are not of moral quality.
