JK Rowling slams new law: ‘Trans offenders endanger women’

JK Rowling criticizes new law: “Transgender offenders endanger women”

“Harry Potter” author JKRowling is once again causing an uproar in the “LGBTQI” community: She attacked on Twitter a law that allows male offenders to be sent to women’s prisons via the “transgender route”. Since then, incidents of abuse against women have risen sharply.

The successful author criticized the so-called “Gender Recognition Reform Bill” introduced by the Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon. This law aims to allow transgender people to change their gender on paper without medical and psychiatric reports. Rowling sees women living in institutions such as prisons as particularly threatened. These are “particularly vulnerable and are now exposed to great danger”. Since biological men have also been allowed to call themselves women and can therefore also be sent to women’s prisons, the rate of abuse and rape there has skyrocketed. Even male sex offenders can be jailed in a women’s prison under the new law if they identify as women.

The LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer and intersex) community has reacted with horror on social media. Rowling is referred to by activists as a TERF (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist). What is meant by this is a feminist who does not recognize transgender women. The “Harry Potter” actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson also distanced themselves from the successful author after the “transphobic” tweets.

Should trans people be able to provide a medical and osychatric report before changing their gender on paper?
