For FC Salzburg it is tomorrow, Tuesday against Bayern to stay in the Champions League. After the 1-1 in the first leg, the starting position is completely open. The Bulls challenged the German record champions and only had to accept the equalizer shortly before the end. Nevertheless, the German record champions are the favorites in this duel in the second leg. Not only because of the home advantage, but also because of Manuel Neuer. The star goalkeeper took part in team training again on Sunday and could therefore celebrate his return between the posts against the Mozartstadt team.
Neuer gave an update to “Bayern TV”. “So far everything has gone smoothly. Of course, we always work at the upper limit. But also in terms of health,” says Neuer and adds: “So of course I try to put the goalkeeper gloves back on as quickly as possible so that I can help the team again.”
The Bayern goalie underwent surgery on the medial meniscus in his right knee in Innsbruck and has been out for the last four weeks. At the weekend against Bayer Leverkusen, Sven Ulreich was still in goal for Bayern. Coach Julian Nagelsmann was also satisfied with Manuel Neuer’s progress: “It’s looking good. He still has some reactions, but that’s normal. We are extremely good in the time window. He hasn’t lost any of his quality in the four-week period.”
