The German carmaker Porsche is forced to interrupt production at the Leipzig plant. The reason is delivery bottlenecks for cable harnesses – these are sourced from the Ukraine. This measure will initially apply until the end of next week, a spokesman said on Wednesday. The Macan and Panamera models are built in Leipzig. Short-time work is requested for the 2,500 employees affected.
In Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, where the Taycan and 911 models are built, production can start this week. “The further steps take place in an orderly process. In the coming days and weeks we will drive on sight and continuously reassess the situation,” it said in a statement.
It is currently unclear whether Porsche, like many other car manufacturers, is also boycotting its deliveries to Russia (eXXpress reported).
