Hundreds of people gathered on Pushkin Square in St. Petersburg on Thursday to protest loudly against Putin’s devastating military strike in Ukraine. Putin’s war is far from in the interest of all Russians – young Russians in particular condemn the aggressive policies of their president and support Ukraine. Hundreds of Russians in St. Petersburg – the hometown of Vladimir Putin – made that more than clear on Thursday when they gathered on Pushkin Square and demonstrated against the Ukraine war.
However, the protests were soon crushed by the Russian police. At least 20 well-fortified demonstrators were arrested by the executive.
