A Turkish-born man who died Wednesday night with gunshot wounds in Vienna favorites was discovered (express reported), died in the hospital. The police are investigating suspected murder “in all directions,” said police spokesman Markus Dittrich Thursday morning. The bloody deed was reported around 7:15 p.m. by a suspected witness via the police emergency call. Emergency services then discovered the seriously injured man in his apartment on Troststrasse, the door was open.
A man had called the police and stated that his friend had been shot with a gas pistol, it was said on Wednesday. The victim was found lying motionless on the ground with three gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to investigators. He was hit in the front with a sharp handgun, Dittrich said. The murder weapon has not yet been discovered.
The professional rescue brought the seriously injured to the hospital with ongoing resuscitation. The man could no longer be helped, he died when he was admitted to the hospital, the police spokesman confirmed.
So far, no relatives of the Turkish citizen have been found in Austria. Attempts are being made to inform the victim’s family through diplomatic channels, said Dittrich.
In the evening, however, they began to question the man’s environment, such as the neighbors in the municipal building on Troststrasse. So far, nothing can be said about the background to the crime, emphasized Dittrich, “for investigative tactical reasons”. There was no further information about the man who called the police.
