Finland won the first semi-final against Slovakia 2-0 and is now in the final of the Olympic ice hockey tournament. Sakari Manninen gave the “Suomi” the lead in the 16th minute. In a hard-fought game, the Slovaks were able to keep the duel open until the last minute. Shortly before the end, Slovakia took full risks and took out the goalkeeper for a sixth fielder. But instead of equalizing, Harri Pesonen hit the empty goal to make it 2-0.
Slovakia is challenged for third place tomorrow, Saturday at 14:10. Finland, on the other hand, is still waiting for its opponent in the final. At 2.10 p.m. the Olympic selection of Russia will duel against Sweden for the second final ticket.
