Since only 15 teams are registered, top seeded Austria has a bye to start with. In the quarterfinals, the winner from Slovenia against Canada is waiting for Katharina Huber, Katharina Liensberger, Katharina Truppe, Stefan Brennsteiner, Michael Matt and Johannes Strolz. In the quarter-finals, the ÖSV team will face the winner of the duel between Slovenia and Canada.
Austria’s ski aces have been a real medal bank at the Winter Games so far. Johannes Strolz was able to become Olympic champion in the combination and also in the slalom. There are also two medals from Matthias Mayer (bronze in the downhill, gold in the super-G). Katharina Liensberger grabbed silver in the slalom. Mirjam Puchner did the same and also took silver, but in Super-G.
In the team competition, two duels are completed for women and men. Whoever wins more duels rises. At the premiere at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018, Austria made it to the final, but was only beaten by Switzerland. For the alpine skiers it is the last race of the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
