After the shocking murder of a young policewoman (24) and a young policeman (29) in West Germany, more and more details are becoming known. As the German “Bild” reported, the officials are said to have carried out a routine check in the Kusel district (Rhineland-Palatinate). At 4:20 a.m., officers radioed that they had stopped a suspicious vehicle. They had discovered dead game in the trunk and would now carry out an inspection.
A short time later, however, a second radio message arrived at the headquarters: “They are shooting at us!” – then the contact broke off. Reinforcements came immediately, but the officers could only recover the body of a 24-year-old policewoman. A few minutes later, her 29-year-old colleague died at the scene. There is still no trace of the perpetrators.
Officials are currently assuming two perpetrators – possibly poachers. Another theory circulating is that it could have been a drug shipment. The crime scene is just an hour and a half from the French border. The German police are investigating at full speed.
