The omicron variant in particular gave the pandemic a new dynamic. According to Hacker, up-to-date data is more important than ever to make the right decisions. Problem: Since January 19, the Ministry of Health has been unable to reliably transmit data to the authorities. eXXpress reported. Hacker writes to Mückstein:
“Unfortunately, for several months now, we have noticed significant delays in the transmission of up-to-date data from the federal government. The delivery of data, which is so important for coordinated reporting between the federal and state governments, is increasingly taking place with an immense daily delay, so that elementary processes of medical crisis management, such as the creation of an up-to-date picture of the situation, can only take place with a delay”.
And the SPÖ city council adds more verbal chatter: “This repeated and severe instability of data exchange with the EMS over a long period of time not only damages the credibility of our joint efforts to contain Covid-19 and fuels skepticism and displeasure among the population. … You’re leaving us completely up in the air!” In the letter, which is available to “Today”, Hacker laments that he has never been so badly informed as he is now.
Mückstein’s ministry has meanwhile said that it is expected that the problem-free transmission of the data will be working again “in a few days”.
