The fashion world is crying for Thierry Mugler. A black image appeared on Monday night as a sign of mourning on the star designer’s official Instagram account. “We are devastated to announce the death of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday 23rd January 2022. May his soul rest in peace.”
Thierry Mugler was best known for his flashy designs. Born in Strasbourg (his parents came from Linz), he had boutiques worldwide, and supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer delivered his fashion shows across the international catwalks. But he was also famous for the drastic changes in his appearance. In an interview, he revealed: “My face was reconstructed after I had a bad accident at the gym that completely shattered it. If that hadn’t happened, I would never have done anything to my face. But since my chin had to be completely redone, I was like, ‘Why don’t you take advantage of that?’”
