The “Week from Hell” could become a hellish month for Donald Trump’s successor. First, judges put a damper on the planned compulsory corona vaccination in companies. Then he predicts a horror inflation rate of seven percent (the highest since the early 1980s). And then his planned electoral reform was blocked. Biden will celebrate his first anniversary in the White House this Thursday. When his people look back on their first 12 months, they don’t take good care of their president.
While his approval rating has consistently hovered around 42 percent, one survey put his approval rating at a lousy 33 percent. For comparison: Donald Trump’s low point was 34 percent.
Speaking of polls, 62 percent of Americans think Biden is bad for the economy. An incredible 70 percent reject his pandemic policy. And that was after Biden stepped in to clean up the “chaos” his predecessor is said to have left behind. There was just as little sign of order in the completely failed troop withdrawal from Afghanistan as in Biden’s management of the refugee crisis in the south of the country.
Another important point: Many Americans feel that the left wing of the Democrats are dictating a sprawling social and socio-political agenda to the President. Biden is to the left by no less than 40 percent. Apart from the liberal coastal metropolises, however, America is and will remain a right-of-centre nation. Characterized by conservative values. Biden is talking past most of his countrymen. What “woke” interests people in New York and Los Angeles doesn’t matter to people in the country. Those people that Donald Trump once discovered for himself and gave them their votes back. And there lies the real problem with Joe Biden.
