More than a year ago, Nicole Schmidhofer injured her knee badly. The Styrian also missed both races in Zauchensee. In the Super-G she was only at the start as a precursor. Now she has declared the season over early. “I am tired. My body is tired,” Schmidhofer explained her decision at an online media event today, Tuesday. She has given everything since her injury. Now she needs rest. Then the preparation for the new season begins.
In Val d’Isere in December 2020, Schmidhofer tore multiple ligaments in his left knee. In December 2021, she surprisingly celebrates her comeback in Lake Louise. After that, however, she took a break.
Now the ÖSV runner can tick off the Olympic Games in Beijing. The Styrian has been active in the World Cup since 2007. So far she has won four World Cups. In 2017 Schmidhofer even became Super-G World Champion. In the 2018/19 season she won the Downhill World Cup.
