An immediate “action sharp” and a ban on the left-wing Antifa demands FPÖ-Mariahilf district party chairman Leo Kohlbauer after the arson attack on the house of an academic student fraternity on Gumpendorfer Straße on Saturday. “This brutal attack shows once again that violence, hatred and criminal offenses are not to be found in peaceful, patriotic demonstrators, but in the left-wing radical scene surrounding the extremist Antifascist Action,” Kohlbauer adds in his criticism of the lax handling of these criminals by the media, police and government.
“This attack in a densely populated residential area must be a wake-up call for the Home Secretary. The incendiary devices and projectiles caused damage to parked cars and it could have been even worse if the fire had spread to the surrounding apartment buildings,” explains Kohlbauer in a broadcast and, after this escapade of violence, announces corresponding FP resolutions in the district council. “In the event of such a threat to the Mariahilfer population from left-wing extremist criminals, the district manager should not remain idle.”
