A bizarre incident occurred in Voitsberg, Styria, on Thursday: a student (9) had to write an outdoor proficiency test – despite being exempt from wearing a mask. A picture of the boy went viral and caused a lot of excitement in the country. eXXpress reported.
The boy’s father spoke up. He reports that his son has “health problems from wearing a mask” and was “issued a mask exemption certificate by a doctor. He would have spent the whole Christmas holidays preparing for the test – but the principal didn’t let him go to school on Monday.
The test was then handed to him on Tuesday and a chair was placed in front of the window. The father admits on “oe24” that the outdoor test was agreed. “He couldn’t have done otherwise.” A lawyer has now been hired and the boy is now attending a different elementary school.
However, the education department confirmed that there was no doubt about the authenticity of the photos. The presented mask exemption certificate was still under examination at the beginning of the week, so it was agreed on the procedure to have the test written outdoors.
