Fraud scandal in Belgium: investigations into dozen suspects

Belgian football is faced with a possible cheating scandal. Today, Friday, the federal prosecutor’s office announced that it intends to indict 57 suspects, the Belga news agency and other media reported.

A total of 56 people and one company are said to be involved in this scandal. Among other things, this involves fraud, money laundering, match fixing and membership in a criminal organization. This is reported, among others, by the Belgian newspaper “Dernière Heure/Les Sports.” The suspects include officials from several top Belgian professional clubs, advisors and referees. It is not known exactly who it is.
