As a recent example, the expert cites the expansion of the FFP2 mask requirement outdoors. From his point of view, it is a measure that makes little sense, which was only taken to show a certain activism – loosely based on the motto: Look, we are acting. From his point of view, it would have been wiser if politicians had not repeatedly raised false expectations among citizens during the pandemic: “For example, experts are currently hearing again and again that the Omicron variant can be controlled. Then people also expect that Omikron can actually be controlled,” says Schöllhammer.
