Adams is very interested in the cryptocurrency and is pleased that he receives his first three salaries in it.
But there are other plans for the city, Adams said. Accordingly, the metropolis should remain the financial capital of the world when it comes to crypto. In addition to institutions such as the NASDAQ and the NYSE, startups and companies related to cryptocurrencies are now to be attracted. In the “CNBC” interview, Adams emphasized the idea of teaching the benefits and applications of blockchain in New York schools. He wants to pave the future for Bitcoin & Co. The possibility of a NYC coin is also not excluded. A Miami coin has already been introduced in the metropolis in Florida.
However, New York’s mayor is not the only celebrity to receive his salary in bitcoin. Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady or PSG superstar Lionel Messi also receive part of their salary in cryptocurrencies.
