The opponents of the Corona measures are mobilizing again for protests next Saturday. Like last week, several rallies and a march on the Ring have been registered this time. The FPÖ will also be actively involved this time, and a speech by party leader Herbert Kickl is planned. Criticism of this comes from Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP).
According to the State Police Directorate, several large gatherings have been announced for Saturday. Among them, from 12 noon, one at Heldenplatz and at the neighboring Maria-Theresien-Platz, followed by a march across the Ring in the opposite direction of travel. The final rally will then take place again at Heldenplatz. Stand rallies have also been registered at Schwarzenbergplatz and in Siegmund-Freud-Park.
According to its own statements, the executive will again be on duty with a large contingent of over 1,000 uniformed and civilian police officers to ensure that the meetings reported are peaceful and orderly, it said. Several thousand participants are expected again. From noon to the evening hours, significant traffic disruptions in and around Vienna’s city center are to be expected again.
