From January 13th to 30th, the European Handball Championship will take place in Slovakia (Budapest, Kosice) and Hungary (Budapest, Szeged, Debrecen). As the organizing committee has announced, the games in the halls in Bratislava and Kosice can be used to 25 percent. The games of Austria’s men are also affected. The Austrians play their group D games in Bratislava. In contrast, co- and final hosts Hungary (Budapest, Szeged, Debrecen) did not impose any numerical restrictions.
Austria will initially face Poland in the Ondrej-Nepela-Hale in Bratislava on January 14th. Two days later, on January 16, you meet Germany. In the last group game, the Austrians duel against Belarus (January 18th). This means that around 3,100 viewers are possible. All spectators must be vaccinated and wear an FFP2 mask at all times. As the Austrian Association (ÖHB) said on Saturday, “according to the latest information”, all ticket purchases made by Austrian fans so far remain valid. It is not known at the moment whether and how many tickets are still available for the preliminary round.
