Even the day after Epiphany did not bring any relaxation to the infection process: In the past 24 hours from Thursday to Friday, 8,786 new infections were registered across Austria. The number of active cases is now 57,298. There are also seven new deaths related to a Covid-19 infection to report, bringing the death toll from the pandemic in Austria to 13,830.
929 patients are currently being treated in connection with Covid-19 in the hospitals. That is 42 people less. The country’s intensive care units are currently treating 278 patients, 17 fewer than on Thursday.
