Around 3,000 people from Linz showed on New Year’s Eve at several New Year’s Eve rallies and a demo march through Linz that they do not allow their lust for life to be forbidden. Report24 was there for you and put together the best pictures in a video and in a picture gallery by Alois Endl.
A report by Edith Brötzner
On New Year’s Eve, they proved that the people of Linz did not let Mayor Luger forbid them to celebrate and demonstrate. There the New Year was welcomed extensively from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on the Landstrasse and on the main square. Vaccinated, unvaccinated, young and old marched hand in hand for cohesion and against division.
A clear message also went to the party-happy politicians who enjoyed themselves extensively during the lockdown, regardless of the people locked away, at the previous Licht ins Dunkel gala without distance, masks and measures: With “Live is Life”, the cheering crowd moved into Linz’s main square, where at midnight the New Year and freedom were toasted with blue Danube waltzes and fireworks. The fact is: The days of fear politics have long been numbered and it is only a matter of time before the madness tips. You can find all photos of Alois Endl here.
