Annoyance about a missed holiday and a canceled New Year’s Eve, fear of Covid disease despite vaccination and also of losing a job, in addition to that, quite a few compatriots are angry about the hastily planned vaccination law: Many Austrians are a little bit nervous.
The Green Minister of Health has now to confirm that: Dozens of reactions to his certainly nicely meant posting on the anniversary of the first vaccination in Austria were absolutely not positive.
And Mückstein’s text on Twitter pissed off quite a few users: “A year ago today has been for quite Europe together one Success story started. A masterpiece of science and medicine. ” And the Minister of Health also emphasized that one could be “proud of the vaccination performance”.
There was only a little positive feedback, but much more harsh criticism. For the health minister’s social media team, December 27th will not go down as the most successful day of Wolfgang Mückstein’s term in office: Such negative reactions were apparently not expected.
The report that Mückstein’s electric company car arrived on November 18 on the way to the Corona summit and had to be recharged had caused a similar number of negative postings – all Austrians therefore had to wait one night longer for the lockdown to be announced on Monday.
