The Italian coast guard brought 90 migrants to the mainland on patrol boats. According to official information, they included many Afghans, Syrians and unaccompanied minors. Within 24 hours, the number of migrants arriving in Crotone rose to 700. The warehouse on site threatens to burst at the seams.
“The migrants are dehydrated and exhausted. The journey to the Crotone coast lasted six to seven days and took place under difficult conditions. Fortunately, only one person has tested positive for the coronavirus so far, ”said Ivana Mangione, a member of the Red Cross.
