Restrictions now also apply in your own four walls in Holland. The rule is: At home, the Dutch may legally receive a maximum of two visitors over the age of 13. On the Christmas holidays, the rule is extended to four visitors.
“We are in a depressed mood here and I think a lot of people will feel the same way. Starting tomorrow, the Netherlands will shut down again. Omicron is spreading even faster than we feared. So we have to act now, ”said Dutch Prime Minister Rutte.
In Amsterdam, the number of infections doubles every two to three days. The Omikron variant is already dominant in the Dutch capital. The number of new infections is currently falling, but the hospitals are still under high pressure, so that experts fear that they will not be able to cope with a further influx of patients.
