FPÖ media spokesman Christian Hafenecker criticized the latest incidents on ORF as “hypocritical” on Wednesday: “The fact that Roman Rafreider moderated the ZIB-Flash in an apparently intoxicated state after a family stroke of fate became known certainly did not give the best picture, but it is in view of the mostly more than the dubious content of the ORF news formats, which drip from one-sided government propaganda paired with left-wing attitude journalism and increasingly degenerate into fairy tale hours, actually no more than a side note. The real scandal is the hypocrisy with which this case is dealt with at the Küniglberg, “he emphasized in a broadcast, referring to the news that the ORF presenter has now been suspended. After all, the departing ORF general director Alexander Wrabetz did not have to fear any official consequences after his alcoholic drink trip, which became known a few months ago.
“If you were to show only a fraction of the consistency with which you regularly defame peaceful demonstrators against the authoritarian Corona government policy on the Küniglberg, Alexander Wrabetz would have to suspend himself immediately at the latest,” said Hafenecker. The fact that this did not happen, however, testifies once more to the “hypocritical spirit” that sets the tone in the ORF executive suite. “The primary problem is less a moderator who has once looked too deeply into the glass than a public service broadcaster, which primarily looks to itself and the favor of the ruling government to secure its benefices,” said Hafenecker, as usual sharply.
In the evening, voices from the private environment of Roman Rafreider were loud, according to which no alcohol should have been involved in the incident. According to this, the presenter was affected by sedatives that he had taken after he had been informed by telephone of the imminent death of his father shortly before the start of the program.
