“With Rajko we are getting a player who is very versatile in the offensive, both in the center and on the wings. He has proven his quality in Slovenia and Austria over a longer period of time and will also help our squad with his experience ”, says Managing Director Sport Matthias Imhof.
Rep played in his home country for NK Celje, NK Maribor and ND Mura, joined the then third division Austria Klagenfurt in early 2014, and moved up to the second division with the team. The 1.77 meter man with 13 goals and four assists in 37 missions played a major role in this and played himself into the hearts of the fans. With the forced relegation he joined the LASK in the summer of 2016, two years later the TSV Hartberg.
After his move to Romania last summer, things didn’t go well for Rep. Due to an injury, he only played five games in qualifying for the Europa Conference League and in the championship for Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe. The midfield all-rounder had previously recorded twelve goals and 14 assists in 109 games in the Prva Liga as well as 23 goals and 21 assists in 107 games in the Austrian Bundesliga.
In November 2019 Rep made his debut for the Slovenian national team in the World Cup qualification against Poland, and later played in the UEFA Nations League in the duels with Greece, Kosovo and Moldova as well as a test against San Marino. He ran 44 times for the junior teams of his national association.
“I am totally happy to be back in Waidmannsdorf and to play for Austria Klagenfurt again. The club has developed positively in the past two years, and I was very happy about the promotion to the Bundesliga. The team has great potential and I will always give my all to achieve the ambitious goals. I can hardly wait to play in front of our fans in the Wörthersee Stadium, ”said Rep.
