Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein announced on Monday the first large delivery of own children’s vaccines. 258,000 pieces should arrive, writes Mückstein on Twitter. “This way we can continue to meet the high demand,” he continued.
Currently, 85,000 children between the ages of five and eleven in Austria have received the first vaccination. The Minister of Health announced this. Mückstein emphasized that the demand was particularly high in the federal states.
The child vaccine was approved by the EMA in late November. So far, a third of the normal dose has been vaccinated in children. Vaccine skeptics are now criticizing that 15 percent of the age group mentioned were already immunized “prematurely” with adult vaccines, and they did not wait for the vaccine specially developed for children.
