According to the public prosecutor’s office, the doctor issued certificates with mask exemptions for around 20 patients known by name without even having examined the women and men. Around 100 other cases, where the names are not known, are listed in the file. In addition, the doctor is said to have changed his passwords for e-mail accounts, for example, after the house search and seizure. This is considered repression of evidence and has also been charged.
In addition to the charges, however, there are also discontinued investigations, namely those relating to the certificates that the man had issued for people abroad, primarily Germany. However, investigations are still being carried out against German customers in the neighboring country.
So far, however, it has not been possible to send the indictment to the accused – he apparently already fled to Tanzania in Africa the previous year. If he does not have a normal place of residence in Austria, where the criminal complaint can be served, you would have to find another address – possibly in Tanzania. The doctor has been an opponent of protective masks since the outbreak of the pandemic and was confronted with trivializing words about the corona virus. A professional ban has already been imposed on him for this reason. In Tanzania, the corona virus is dealt with significantly differently than in Europe. Not even 1.5 percent of the population are vaccinated, and the recently deceased president opposed any kind of measure. The vaccination was also categorically rejected, naturopathy and vitamin cocktails were used as alternatives.
