Completely surprising, the long-time FPÖ Federal Press Spokesman Karl Heinz Grünsteidl died of a heart attack at the age of 57. The blue parliamentary club announced this in a broadcast.
Since 1992 Gründsteidl has worked in various positions without interruption for the FPÖ and the Freedom Parliamentary Club. For a long time he was a leader in media work, including more than ten years as Federal Press Spokesman and in the turquoise-blue government from 2017 to 2019 as spokesman for Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache.
FPÖ boss and club chairman Herbert Kickl praised Karl Heinz Grünsteidl as a “professional and highly loyal employee who has accompanied the FPÖ through many ups and downs at the forefront. Karl Heinz was also a true friend to me personally, as few people find in life. “
Kickl was “infinitely grateful for his decades of self-sacrificing work and for all that I was able to learn from him professionally and in human terms in many hours of personal togetherness. He was a great character, full of warmth and depth. We will never forget him, Karl Heinz lives on in our hearts and minds. On behalf of the entire free community, I express our deepest condolences to his loved ones and friends. “
