This week the federal and state governments want to agree on a timely end to the lockdown – but not everywhere and not for everyone. Salzburg and Upper Austria will remain in lockdown due to the critical Corona situation and there will be no easing for unvaccinated people either. However, the vast majority of Austrians can start their Christmas shopping next week.
As reported, however, vaccinated people still have to expect restrictions. Among other things, a night curfew is supposed to re-enter. There are also plans for an FFP2 mask requirement indoors and guest registration in the catering trade. There should also be strict rules for night-time dining and events.
The federal states are free to take stricter measures if necessary. Vienna’s mayor Michael Ludwig has already announced that he can imagine a 2G + in the capital, according to which vaccinated and convalescent people also have to show a negative PCR test.
