As reported, three people (19, 19 and 24) were killed in the tragic avalanche accident in Salzburg. It has been known since Sunday that one of the dead is Red Bull Motocross star and KTM works driver René Hofer († 19).
He and ten other people set out on a ski tour in the direction of Lackenspitze in the Tweng municipality in the Tamsweg district on Saturday. Shortly after 1.30 p.m., a slab of snow about 200 meters wide loosened in the ridge area and caught eight people in the group. Three people were completely buried and did not survive the accident – including the motorcross talent.
