According to the Daily Mail, this incident occurred back in August. In north London, Arsenal star Gabriel and his friend were followed by armed robbers on their way to his property. Once there, Gabriel was threatened with a baseball bat in his own garage. The masked robbers tried to steal his Mercedes and his watch – but in vain. Because the Arsenal player hit one of the robbers in the face. Then there was a fight. The robber was able to free himself from Gabriel’s grip and then ran away.
One of the perpetrators (26) could be identified by means of DNA traces. He was then sentenced to five years in prison. According to the Daily Mail, it is a drug dealer from Tottenham. However, according to Judge Anupama Thompson, there is no evidence that he was attacked because he is a Premier League star. Rather, the robbers were after his luxury items.
