No decisions should be made at today’s expert talk in the Federal Chancellery. Above all, they wanted to go into the second half of the lockdown in a well-coordinated manner, the government said in advance. The newly started aid measures for the economy are to be evaluated. The SPÖ and Neos are also discussing compulsory vaccinations.
The time from December 12th, when the lockdown for vaccinated and convalescent people should be largely over, is not yet an issue, as the government says. The necessary forecast data would only be available from Wednesday, said a spokeswoman for Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens). However, strict restrictions to contain the corona virus should still apply after the end of the full lockdown, as reported by the “Krone”. The gastro could stay closed and 2G could go into extension.
On the government side, Federal Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP), Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens), Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) and Tourism Minister Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP) take part. On the part of the social partners, trade union president Wolfgang Katzian, Chamber of Labor President Renate Anderl (both SPÖ) as well as Chamber of Commerce President Harald Mahrer and WKÖ General Secretary Karl-Heinz Kopf (both ÖVP) are at the table. On the expert side, the Vice Rector of the Med Uni Vienna, Oswald Wagner, simulation researcher Niki Popper and Health Austria (GÖG) boss Herwig Ostermann arrived at the Chancellery.
