Various well-known faces from the Austrian peace and freedom movement are calling for a warning strike. How this works and what the legal basis is for it is explained in the following video.
Alexander Ehrlich: Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they take the risk of a “wildcat strike”
Hello dear friends of the Austrian Federal Constitution. Alexander here. For two years the government has trampled the Federal Constitution, ignored judgments of the Constitutional Court, and cheerfully continues with ever more drastic ordinances that are only recognized as illegal months later.
We’ve been on the street for two years. If demos no longer bring anything, no matter how big they are, if they are ignored, if petitions, referendums, e-mails to politicians, invitations to respectful and patient conversation, none of them have any effect, a democratic peace and freedom movement like ours must extra-parliamentary opposition, think about what other peaceful means are we still at our disposal? For a few days there have been many calls in the APU’s Telegram groups and channels to organize a Europe-wide warning strike on December 1st.
Strike is a peaceful means of resisting injustice. However, against injustice that is exercised by employers. The employers, however, participate in an injustice if they allow themselves to be made vicarious agents for unlawful or unconstitutional or human rights regulations. From that point of view, a strike would make sense.
To see how many of you are of the same opinion, I posted a poll on my Telegram channel today on November 24, 2021, in which 35 thousand people have now voted. Result: 87% are clearly in favor of a warning strike and would personally take part in it. (Note: 48,000 people have currently voted). 8% have no opinion and only 5% are against it for various reasons.
I understand each of you who are in favor of the strike. Can a warning strike make a difference, or a longer strike? Yes! According to reports from today, the people in Guadeloupe succeeded in preventing the planned forced vaccination precisely in this way. I have no democratic legitimation, I am not elected, and I have no authority over anyone. I can therefore neither advise nor advise against anything.
I can only tell you the following: If you decide, each for yourself, to take part in this warning strike, or later perhaps a general strike, then you must know that it would be a so-called “wildcat strike”. Not union origin, not unionized. A wildcat strike is by nature an illegal act. Your employer has the right to ask you to go back to work, and according to the highest court decisions known to me, if you do not do so within two days, he can use your actions as a reason for dismissal without notice.
In contrast to a unionized strike, you have no right to wages and there is no one who would represent you in court if problems arise. Everyone is on their own in this case. Therefore everyone has to decide for themselves. I myself will demonstrate on December 1, 2021 at Maria-Theresien-Platz in Vienna. I invite my employees to do the same. What are you doing on December 1st? See you on the street.
Manuel Müllner: It’s enough for good – general strike as a peaceful means of resistance
Dear friends of fundamental rights! It’s finally enough. This federal government has repeatedly ignored the findings of the Constitutional Court and is now imposing a general compulsory vaccination and another lockdown for Austrian citizens. How far does it have to come before we say “no”? Calls are circulating on the Internet calling for a warning strike on December 1st, 2021.
This strike is intended as a rule of law to restore the lawful state of affairs in this country. A call to a strike is legally not without, as is the long-term participation in it, which can lead to consequences under civil service law. But there are other ways of not having to strike, but still being able to take part in an action like this one.
One option would be to take a vacation that day. You could also work your overtime and take that day off. But if you are not doing well for health reasons due to the current situation, please stay at home. Likewise all those who suffer from psychological damage because of this persistent discrimination and these measures that are taken without any evidence.
There are many ways to show resistance to current action. I hereby call for nonviolent resistance. It is not necessary to use any violence to restore the lawful state of this country. We must at all times use peaceful and constitutional means to restore peace and justice in this country. What are you going to do on December 1st, when a warning strike was called?
Monika Donner: The government’s illegal behavior leaves us no other choice!
Dear fellow human beings, it is time for the general strike! The government’s behavior, the government’s illegal behavior, leaves us with no choice. The current decision in favor of compulsory vaccination, which is neither covered by the constitution, nor with the epidemic situation, shows that we are probably dealing with a fascist takeover.
The so-called vaccines are ineffective and unsafe, compulsory vaccination would be illegal and prohibited even if there is a serious epidemic situation. But we don’t have that. In addition, around 30% of Austrians do not want to be injected. For this reason it is evident that we must defend ourselves. We have the right to actively resist.
I advise against violence, and a very peaceful means is the general strike. Starting with a warning strike. We have the possibility to withdraw our energy from the system, to withdraw our labor from the dictators and to make them aware that this is not possible. It is time to point that out.
The mortality increases and the severe cases, the intensive care units are repeatedly occupied with vaccinated persons. In other words, it is the vaccinated people who create the epidemic picture in the first place. This image is obviously needed for the so-called neodictators to install the digital dictatorship that has been planned for a long time. The entire political system is supposed to be gradually changed and here we have to stand up. Something has to happen. From a legal point of view, a general strike is absolutely permissible in a democracy. It is adequately peaceful and it addresses the employer, who is instrumentalized by the government to enforce the illegal coercive measures.
So the strike is the best tool. I would recommend starting with a warning strike and taking a day off our workforce and making it clear to the government that it cannot go on like this. It has to stop. All measures are unconstitutional. For this reason it is evident that this government should be given a lesson.
A signal must be made and started that clearly shows: We do not participate here! We are responsible for our bodies and according to self-determination every person has to decide for himself whether he goes on a strike or not and what he does it for. I would advise doing it to keep your body clean. Listen to your heart!
