On Tuesday yesterday there were 584 people with an infection in the intensive care unit across Austria. 428 and thus 73.3 percent of the intensive care patients either had no or an incomplete vaccination. The much smaller proportion, namely 156 people (26.7 percent), were vaccinated.
The figures in the federal capital Vienna were similar (as of November 22). 113 people with a SARS-CoV-2 infection had to be treated in intensive care there. 90 patients and thus 79.6 percent do not have complete vaccination protection or are not vaccinated at all. 20.4 percent, i.e. 23 people, received at least two doses of the vaccine.
If you look at the total number of hospital patients, more than half of the 2584 infected people in Austria (54.5 percent or 1409 people) are without full vaccination protection (as of November 23). Much fewer – 1175 people – are immunized with two doses of vaccine. Looking at Vienna, 192 of the 344 hospital patients without vaccination protection (55.8 percent) and 152 (44.2 percent) are fully vaccinated. (APA)
