Pierer Mobility has bought the US supplier Felt Bicycles and is thus entering the North American market. “As part of their strategy, this is the next step for the group of companies to take on a leading role worldwide in the bicycle sector,” said the Upper Austrian on Tuesday evening.
Felt Bicycles was founded in California (USA) in 1991 and specializes in the manufacture of racing bikes, triathlon, track, cyclocross, gravel and adventure bikes with retractable handlebars. Pierer points to great successes in international cycling.
“The takeover fits perfectly into the overall strategy of Pierer E-Bikes GmbH – namely to become a global player in the field of two-wheel mobility, with both electric and non-electric bikes, across all bicycle categories,” said company boss Stefan Pierer in a broadcast .
The takeover consists of three components: the purchase of the brand values, the business values in Europe and North America and the integration of the global workforce into the team structure of Pierer E-Bikes GmbH. Felt Bicycles have been part of the Rossignol Group since 2017. The brands KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas belong to Pierer Mobility. (APA)
