The fourth Austria-wide lockdown, in force for just a few hours, could be unconstitutional for a considerable part of the population. Studies from Israel show that people who have been vaccinated three times are spared almost 100 percent from severe courses.
Another relevant point is infectivity. People who have been vaccinated three times have a 90 percent lower chance of becoming infectious. As a result, they logically very rarely infect other people, say health economists. It is not yet clear how long this protection has been in place.
For some experts, the only argument in favor of the durability of the lockdown would be the fact that too few people in Austria have received the third trick. But constitutional experts and lawyers also doubt this – at least more than a million people in Austria are currently vaccinated three times.
