the Rally last Tuesday in front of the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic has clearly shown that it is really already ten past twelve. If a vaccination is compulsory, a large part of the health workers will drop out.
An interview conducted by Edith Brötzner
We spoke to Sonja, nursing assistant and organizer of the demo, and wanted to know what urgently needs to happen in order to get back on track:
Report24: Congratulations on the successful rally in front of the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic!
Sonja: Thanks! I didn’t expect that I would get such a ball rolling!
Report24: Are you the organizer of the rally?
Sonja: I started a call for help and asked a friend what I can do because I don’t want to have vaccinations in my job. If that came, I would no longer be able to work. He advised me to see that we get people out onto the streets quickly. That’s how it all started.
Report24: How many people do you think were there?
Sonja: What I heard and saw in the media were around 800-1000 people.
Report24: Does it have any professional consequences for you that you organized it and stood there or is everything still okay at the moment?
Sonja: Officially, I don’t know anything yet. But there is still something to come. I was aware of that from the start. Although I said from the start that the clinic has nothing to do with this rally. They just didn’t like it. I guess there will definitely be more talks.
Many think skeptically about compulsory vaccination
Report24: There is probably no going back for you? Have you already regretted getting up?
Sonja: No, I do that over and over again. Very quick. Because I’m a person who fights for fairness and what’s going on right now is unfair and discriminatory. There just has to be people who point this out and give other people courage. They then say “Hey, that’s right, there are several who think the same way.” We have to change something and we can only do that together.
Report24: What would have to happen urgently to make it fit again?
Sonja: Tolerance! The rally went well. It was day of tolerance. The clinic could also have shown tolerance, which unfortunately did not happen. When fifteen to twenty nurses stood in front of the clinic four or five weeks ago, holding signs in their hands for this vaccination, that was fine. Because people supposedly want to see it. But if there are people, employees like me, with a different opinion, that will be strictly rejected. It would be really great if there was finally tolerance and we had equality. When everyone is allowed to express their opinion and there is no division.
Report24: The medical association initiated the last rallies that were held in front of the hospitals. Signs were then made available that read “Get your vaccinations, it’s ten past twelve”. How do you see such actions planned by the Medical Association?
Sonja: That’s more for politics. What we did today was by and for the people.
“I know more vaccine damage than Covid sufferers.”
Report24: Would you see what politics and the media are now communicating in terms of bed occupancy, illnesses, etc. … as realistic or does it look different in the hospital? Are the wards overcrowded with unvaccinated Covid patients?
Sonja: That is a difficult question. If you ask, you get very little information. I saw with my own eyes that people who had the third vaccination in September also test positive. It’s not that only the unvaccinated are in the hospital. There are also vaccinated people there. I can say that for sure.
Report24: You already mentioned it, you are not a vaccination opponent. But you are skeptical about this Covid vaccination, like many others. What is the reason for your skepticism?
Sonja: That this vaccination has not been researched enough and it still only has an emergency approval. I make my own picture. I have noticed many side effects in friends, family and relatives. More side effects than corona cases. And if there were corona cases, they were very easy. I am still looking at the numbers that the WHO publishes. We still have a 99.8 percent chance of surviving this virus. I don’t think it’s appropriate to have a vaccination that’s just a year old. I would take at least six more years to know what the long-term effects are. That’s still too unsure for me. I don’t know what that can trigger. In Germany, five children have already died from this vaccination. And now children from the age of five are vaccinated in Vienna. That’s crazy and hasn’t even been approved. Incredible.
If only 10% quit their job, absolute chaos threatens.
Report24: What’s next for you? Was the demo a flash in the pan or do you have other promotions planned?
Sonja: It was actually more of a coincidence and it was not planned that it would turn out that way. That is of course positive for us. It was originally planned that 50-60 people from the clinic would go around the house. That would have fit in terms of space. And then suddenly it broadened. You noticed: people want to be there. You’ve been waiting for something so that you can show your face, stand up and say, “Hey, I’ll be there. We have to fight for that. ”I would never have thought that it would really turn out to be 1000 people. I haven’t even considered whether to continue or get involved. In any case, I stick to my opinion that I am not a vaccination opponent. I had my children vaccinated against teething troubles. But with this vaccination I remain skeptical and will not get vaccinated. So I’ll probably have to quit my job by June at the latest anyway. As long as we have time to consider whether we want to be vaccinated, I heard. I have nothing to lose. That’s why I decided to take to the streets and fight for it. Because I am probably not allowed to continue working in my nursing profession as an unvaccinated person.
Report24: What would happen if everyone who thinks like you – even if it’s only 10% – quit their job and say “We’re out!”?
Sonja: The absolute chaos. Because we were extremely understaffed before Corona and still are. There will be absolute chaos. Because then there is no longer a workforce that can take care of patients, clients and residents. But it’s not our fault, it’s the government.
If we all stand on our feet, we will make the greatest difference!
Report24: How high do you rate the chances that nursing and health professions can make a difference and change something when they stand on their feet?
Sonja: I believe we could do the greatest thing. If we really ALL stand on our feet and show: Hey, you need us. We would be going in the right direction.
Report24: Have you made an appeal to your colleagues from the health professions, what should be done now?
Sonja: It would be best – and I would like that – if everyone decides according to their heart and gut feeling. Not under pressure, blackmail or scare tactics from various media. Then things would be different. 80% only got vaccinated because they simply couldn’t stand the pressure anymore. Or because they are a single parent or need the money. Many are not as lucky as I am to have family and friends who are behind me. I’m covered and I’m lucky that I don’t have to work and I wish everyone that they can listen to their hearts and do the right thing.
