For unvaccinated employees for whom “physical contact” with other people cannot be ruled out, a daily compulsory test will come into force nationwide in Germany (Report24 reported) – the new Infection Protection Act was passed yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Conference and today by the Federal Council approved. The new regulation also has financial consequences for unvaccinated people.
From Max Bergmann
Among other things, the new regulation provides for strict controls of 3G compulsory at the workplace by employers. Employers should therefore check the evidence of the employees on a daily basis. For unvaccinated people who have not been tested, there is an absolute Entry ban for your own workplace. The ban on entry only does not apply if tests can be offered and carried out on site at the workplace under supervision.
For unvaccinated people only three free tests per week for a 5-day week
According to the current regulations, you are now entitled to a free weekly citizen test again. Previously, free tests for everyone were abolished in order to increase vaccination pressure. Companies are also still required to offer their employees two free tests per week. Accordingly, unvaccinated people who are not considered recovered would only be entitled to 3 free tests per week. In most cases, however, a regular working week consists of 5 days, in some cases 6-day weeks are also common at times. Affected workers would have to have two to three tests per week, depending on the situation settle out of pocketto be able to work at all.
Paradoxical situation due to 3G compulsory in local transport
The 3G compulsory use of buses and trains, which is also envisaged, shows that these regulations are not well thought out, as is so often the case. An unvaccinated employee may no longer use buses and trains if the drafts are approved on Thursday as planned. Entry into public transport should only be allowed to be vaccinated, recovered or freshly tested negative. But a certified test center or your own employer are rarely on your doorstep. From now on, unvaccinated people can only get there on foot or by bike, regardless of wind and weather. Or of course with your own car, if you have one. It remains to be seen how this, especially the climate-affine parties like the Greens, will perceive.
Billing for multiple use of the free citizen tests unclear
According to the new test regulation, citizens are entitled to only one free test per week. How to deal with citizens who make multiple use of the offer does not emerge from the draft. In the past, some test centers reserved the right, as part of their general terms and conditions, to also charge the test person for tests carried out if the federal government refused to assume the costs. At least that’s possible. As a rule, the insurance card and identity card must be presented for the free citizen test. a separate billing for citizens who use the offer more than once a week would be conceivable with the data then available. Unvaccinated people are strongly advised to check the terms and conditions of the test stations in advance with regard to possible recalculations.
