After a bomb threat against a kindergarten in Cologne, a man was arrested on Friday. At around 3:30 p.m., the police reported a “threat.” The man entered the kindergarten and threatened to “blow up the building.” Finally, an employee called the emergency number. The children were taken out of the building. An hour and a half later, the perpetrator was arrested. Several special task forces advanced.
The officers were able to establish contact with the suspect and ultimately persuade him to leave the building voluntarily. According to the Cologne “Stadt-Anzeiger”, the man was naked except for boxer shorts and stockings. He did not resist when he was arrested. Fortunately, all children were able to be handed over to their parents unharmed. The motive or whether the man was mentally ill is not yet known.
