The young woman (19) from the Wels-Land district was driving her car at around 1 a.m. together with a friend (18) from the Wels-Land district along Meierhofgasse in Lambach. For a previously unknown cause, the car came off the lane at the intersection there. The car flew over a steep embankment and crashed into the Traun. The young woman climbed out of the already sinking vehicle through an open window and was able to escape to the bank.
Your young co-driver was only found after about half an hour by divers from the volunteer fire brigade at a depth of about four meters in the vehicle. A team of emergency doctors tried to reanimate the young boy, but this was unsuccessful. The young woman was hypothermic and brought to the Wels Clinic after initial treatment. An alcohol test carried out on the girl showed a value of 1.0 per mille.
