The PCR test regulation (2.5G rule) that applies to some unvaccinated employees was relaxed on Monday evening by Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens). Those affected by the stricter test obligation (in hospitals, nursing homes and old people’s homes as well as in night catering) can also submit an antigen test (3G rule) if a PCR test cannot be brought in.
The 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered, tested – an antigen test is sufficient here) generally applies to work. 2G generally applies in the areas mentioned. Unvaccinated and also not recovered employees can alternatively bring a PCR test and then have to wear an FFP2 mask.
In the amendment to the 5th COVID-19 Protective Measures Ordinance, which came into force on Monday, published by Mückstein on Monday evening, the current bottlenecks in the area-wide supply of PCR tests are now apparently addressed. There it says: “If it can be made credible that an authorized body of a negative result of a molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 cannot be presented due to lack of availability or an evaluation that is not timely, as required by this ordinance, the As an exception, operators let employees in even if they present a 3G certificate.
