This is apparently not the case at the Burgenland University of Education at the moment. Because a few days ago the participants of the academic course for recreational education received the information by e-mail that the swimming course necessary for a successful completion could only be attended by vaccinated or convalescent people.
The reason given for the procedure is that the indoor swimming pool in Eisenstadt only grants access to those who have been vaccinated or recovered, i.e. 2G. “For all those who cannot take part in the swimming course, participation in the final presentation and thus completing the university course in February 2022 is unfortunately not possible,” says the letter, which caused great outrage. The only possible alternative for vaccinated students is the summer semester.
Confronted with the allegations, both the rectorate of the college of education and the course management emphasize that it is an important matter to make it possible for everyone to graduate by February. The school management also assumes that the rules will no longer be so strict in January. All students who are not allowed to receive a corona vaccination for health reasons, a PCR test with a corresponding medical confirmation is sufficient for participation in the lessons in the indoor pool, the management assured.
