After the failed third round of negotiations for a new commercial KV, the union made its salary increase demand public for the first time. A resolution adopted today is calling for an increase in income by 3.5 percent, especially in those areas of trade that were particularly challenged in the corona pandemic. An online works council conference took place on Friday afternoon.
On Thursday, the trade union and WKÖ fought for around 13 hours to reach an agreement in the third round of negotiations. The overall package presented by the employers was not good enough for the employee representatives. The aim is to conclude a collective agreement “that ends existing injustices, especially for female employees, and offers young employees a perspective,” the resolution said. In addition, the high rate of inflation must be compensated and purchasing power must be secured.
The works councils of the trading companies want to inform the employees in works meetings in the next week about “the insufficient supply of the employers” and advise on further measures.
