Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen returns to the Hofburg on Friday. After a week in the home office, he will be able to attend appointments again from tomorrow; in the afternoon he received the governor of Vorarlberg, Markus Wallner (ÖVP), for an interview. Due to the tense pandemic situation, the official visit of the Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou to Austria planned for Friday was postponed.
Van der Bellen went to the home office after an employee (who had been vaccinated twice) from the close office environment had tested positive for Corona. The Federal President himself – he has had himself tested several times – did not fall ill. But he carried out the official business from home that week and did not attend any official appointments. So today, Thursday, he did not open the judges’ day in Linz either, but sent a short message of greeting.
