In the Hanseatic city, everything will be set up very differently this year than usual. Probably the biggest difference to the last “normal” years: in 2021 there will be a 2G area that is separated from the rest of the market by a fence.
On the side of the town hall there is a fenced-in catering area with food and mulled wine – only those who have been vaccinated or recovered have access there. On the other side of the market with the dealers and their Christmas items, everyone has access, but there is a mask requirement. However, the visitors have to forego a tradition they have cherished. The “Flying Santa Claus”, which was otherwise to be seen three times a day over the town hall market, will not be there this year, reports “RTL”.
