Since Monday, foreigners have been allowed to re-enter the USA with internationally recognized vaccination certificates after a full vaccination against the coronavirus. This means that even fully vaccinated foreign travelers from Schengen countries such as Austria can return directly to the country. Previously, this required a special permit from the US government. Flights from Austria are also planned for Monday, around 10.25 a.m. from Vienna-Schwechat to New York.
Foreign nationals are now allowed to enter the US if they present a valid vaccination certificate and a negative Covid test. The test must be carried out within three days of departure. Unvaccinated foreign nationals are only allowed to enter the country if they meet certain criteria for exceptional cases and undertake to undergo a Covid test after their arrival and to be vaccinated.
