The 2G rule will apply throughout Austria from Monday. Accordingly, only those who have either recovered or have been vaccinated are allowed access to restaurants and leisure facilities. At the weekend, many Austrians therefore decided to accept the vaccination offer. After a temporary decrease in the number of vaccination appointments booked daily from almost 3000 to just over 1000 at the end of October, their number exploded by the end of this week. In view of the “very positive, increasing trend movements” in vaccinations carried out and booked, the state’s crisis team confirmed “intensive preparations to further expand vaccination capacities in Upper Austria”. In the past two weeks, “the number of first and third vaccinations given has almost doubled”.
But not only in Upper Austria. In Vienna and Lower Austria, too, people stood in line in front of the vaccination streets or vaccination bosoms. However, interest in vaccination centers has also increased significantly in western Austria. In Tyrol, around 6000 people were vaccinated against Corona over the weekend, 3200 of them for the first time. According to a broadcast from the country, that is about three times as many total vaccinations as, for example, two weeks ago. In the past few weeks, the range of vaccinations across the country has been continuously expanded. The vaccination centers in Kitzbühel and Landeck, which did not offer any vaccinations over the summer due to the lower demand, opened again, so that vaccination centers are currently available in all Tyrolean districts.
