Two police officers discovered the little seal after the animal waddled across a street.
The motorists could only just avoid collisions with the ear seal several times, it said. Eyewitnesses had alerted the police that an “otter” was walking on a street in the village of San Rafael. The young animal then turned out to be an eared seal of the species of northern fur seals. They are characterized by a particularly thick fur.
The marine mammal was brought to the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, where the young animal is to be observed first, as the San Francisco Chronicle reported on Monday, reports “Tag24”.
